Established - "Karimikui AB - Kenya Blackberry | Cherry | Black Grape Farmer: Over 2500 farmer members Country: Kenya Region: Kirinyaga Variety: SL-28, SL-34, Batian & Ruiru 11 Process:  Washed Karimikui Factory is owned and operated by the Rung’eto Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS). Between 1700 and 1900 meters above sea level local farmers cultivate SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties, delivering ripe cherries to the Karimikui factory. Founded in 1953 the factory was one of the earliest established in the region.   Farmers delivering to Karimikui factory cultivate primarily SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 in small coffee gardens that are typically smaller than 1 hectare."
