Goose and Badger - "In Kenya, coffee is a staple crop. Grown by farmers and homeowners of all shapes and sizes, often brought together by cooperatives who, together, own and operate the mills that turn the cherries into the green beans that make their way into our roastery. The Gichuka Factory, set in Kiambu County, immediately to the north of Nairobi, began operating in 1985. Run by the Kimaratia Farmers’ Cooperative Society, it is one of three wet mills that act as coffee collection points for farmers across the region."
